How much notice to vacate do I have to give??

MICM Property advises that there are a number of reasons to issue a notice to vacate. Below we will discuss a few reasons and the respectively amount of minimum notice required, that a landlord can end a tenancy, but not before the end of the tenancy.

 

End of fixed term tenancyThe tenancy agreement has a fixed term of fewer than 6 months 60 days
End of fixed term tenancyThe tenancy agreement has a fixed term of 6 months or more 90 days
Property to be soldThe premises have been sold and all sale conditions have been satisfied 60 days
Owner OccupyThe landlord, a member of the landlord’s immediate family (including parents and parents-in-law) or a dependents (who normally lives with the landlord) will be moving in 60 days
